This is in reference to the Amtgard Poker Deck Project.

I am leading an effort to make an Amtgard Poker deck. The idea actually came up on the Electric Samurai website and the community there made the design descisons. At this point, I am taking the lead on it since it making it happen is something better suited to one person than a group.

So what I need is artists to help illustrate the cards. Let me explain the plan here

Its a standard poker deck in that it has 52 cards and 2 jokers. Its non-standard in that the suits are the four Amtgard flavors of knighthood and the face cards are Squire, Master and Knight. One joker is going to be a reeve.

Each card will have individual art work that includes the number of the suit in the art work. For example the 10 of roses would have a picture of, for example, a lady in a garden with 10 roses around her. Or the Three of Serpents might have three snakes intertwined. Amtgard themed pictures are best with medieval/fantasy themed as second best but please use your creativity. The swords on the swords suit should be boffers (we understand this can inhibit creativity but it can also spark the same). Besides it makes for our project more Amtgard related. You can see in the example that the two of swords shows two boffer swords.

I will be printing the cards and making them availible for sale to all Amtgardians who are interested. I am going to set the prices at cost plus $2. The two dollars will go to charity. If my printing come out at the expected price they will cost around seven dollars.

So at this point, I am begging for artists. I know that wuth all the talent in Amtgard, we have plenty of artists to make this happen. If you are interested in helping, send me an e-mail saying which card you would like to illustruate. I will add you to the spreadsheet and I wont follow up with you for a few weeks at least.

As of today, I have a template for the cards, including one of each suit. I also have the partial art for the two of Swords.

I also have a link to a list of all the cards and with the names of artists who have already volunteered or been suckered into it.
